Thank you for choosing Glendale Endodontics & Microsurgery as your endodontic care provider. Our expert team, led by the respected endodontic specialist Dr. David Abdelmalak, includes an experienced endodontic staff. Our mission is to provide the highest quality of endodontic care to our patients in a comfortable and pleasant environment. We hope that the information provided here answers many of your questions about endodontic treatment.

Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. In most cases, if needed, your therapy can be started the same day as the consultation, this helps start the healing process. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan may require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Your endodontic referral slip.
  • A list of medications you are presently taking.
  • If you have any medical conditions that require pre-medication, please let us know at the time of your appointment.
  • If you have dental insurance, bring the necessary insurance information. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the consultation visit.

A pre-operative consultation and physical examination is mandatory for patients undergoing IV anesthesia for endodontic therapy. On the day of your root canal procedure appointment, please have nothing to eat or drink 8 hours prior to your therapy. Please make arrangements to have an adult drive you home following your procedure.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).

X-Rays

If your dentist or physician has taken X-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. Additional films are necessary and will be taken at our facility. This helps us obtain a full perspective of your endodontic needs.

We are specialist members of the American Association of Endodontics as well as good standing members in the Southern California Academy of Endodontics, the American Dental Society, the California Dental Association, the San Fernando Dental Society and the Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Society.
